    “Works by renowned contemporary artists paying tribute to soccer have been brought together in the Ball in Art exhibition, which was inaugurated here Wednesday on the eve of the 2018 World Cup kick-off in the Russian capital.

    The exhibition at Zariadie park, near the Kremlin, brings together more than 60 works from 20 different artists, including pioneering Spanish video artist Antoni Muntadas.

    Three videos created by Muntadas are projected in a separate room in the 560-sq.-mt. (6,028 sq. ft.) facility that houses the exhibition.

    Ball in Art also brings together works by other renowned artists such as Dario Escobar, from Guatemala, Marcos Marin, from Brazil, and Japanese illustrator Yuko Shimizu, whose works pay tribute to the extraordinary goals scored by Argentine legend Diego Maradona.
    A light and sound concert by German artist Karsten Winkels will also be presented in Moscow during the World Cup.

    The Ball in Art exhibition will be open to the public until July 23.”

Society of Illustrators’ ILLUSTRATORS 60

    The two-part annual exhibition Illustrators 60 will be held at the Museum of American Illustration at the Society of Illustrators in January to February. The exhibit features works by leading contemporary illustrators worldwide, selected by a prestigious jury of professionals. PART1 exhibit includes works in Advertising, Institutional, Surface/Product, and Uncommissioned Categories. PART 2 exhibit Editorial and Book Categories.

    I will have total of 8 illustrations accepted into this year’s annual.
    During PART 2, I will be receiving Hamilton King Award for this piece created for PLANSPONSOR Magazine for SooJin Buzelli.

    “The Museum of Illustration at the Society of Illustrators is proud to present The Original Art, an annual exhibit celebrating the fine art of children’s book illustration, on display from November 1 through December 30, 2017.

    Founded in 1980 by illustrators’ agent and art director Dilys Evans, this exhibit showcases the original art from the year’s best children’s books. The 2017 exhibit features a diverse list of books selected by a jury of outstanding illustrators, art directors, and editors.”

Facing Humanity exhibit at Northeastern University, Boston

    I will be showing RZA and Freddie Mercury portraits in this show curated by my friend Scott Bakal.
    RZA piece includes rough sketches as well as unrevised original ink drawing to show the whole process.

    “Facing Humanity is an exhibition of work by renowned illustrators who create images for books, magazines, posters, and other types of publication. Artists featured in this show range from the rising stars of illustration to some of the most prominent illustrators in the world. All have the unique ability to capture the personality and emotions of their subjects.

    Several of these images have appeared in international publications and some pieces were created specifically for this show and are being exhibited here for the first time. The portraits shown here depict everyday people and well-known figures from popular culture. Each artist sought to illustrate not only the features and forms of their subjects, but the significance the subjects have in culture and society.”
