Communication Arts Illustration Annual 54

Hi everyone. I am back from Bogotá, Colombia, and back to my studio since mid-week. I will write a blog post about this amazing experience later!

For now, Communication Arts Illustration Annual 54 is officially out. I have a series of 5 illustrations from my new kids book Barbed Wire Baseball (AD: Chad Beckerman) accepted into the annual, as well as Dutch Pension System illustration for PLANSPONSOR Europe magazine (CD: SooJin Buzelli), and upcoming re-release of Yukio Mishima’s Spring Snow book cover (CD: John Gall) also in the same annual. Big thank you to my ADs as well as the judges of this year’s competition.
Communication Arts‘ latest issue is available in bookstores and newsstands near you.

Computer Arts interview

British magazine Computer Arts’ new issue just came out, and though I have not seen the actual magazine yet, the full interview can be read online now.
there is one correction in the article, which is, I have not gone back to Japan since I moved to New York in 1999.
What am I talking about? Well, you can read it here.

Thank you Ruth-Ellen Davis and Julia Sagar!

Barbed Wire Baseball in NYT Book Review (and new interview)

So excited to have the upcoming kids book Barbed Wire Baseball (writer: marissa Moss, Abrams) reviewed in tomorrow’s New York Times Book Review. Very small, but a fantastic review. I am extremely honored. Read the full reviews of upcoming kids books in theme of baseball and basketball Bookshelf: Bats and Baskets here, Slide show here.  You can see some of the pages from my book here.

Also, you can check out a new interview on me just released in a Romanian architecture blog Seeders Report. Thank you Anca.

new press in Japan, and this time I am not so controversial (thank god!)

I got a new press in Japan, for Pouch, a news and entertainment site for women. And, thank god, it looks like this time it is not so controversial (as far as I had checked the article and comments).
My guess is that Japanese women love to show their powerful side? What do you think?
Thank you Ms. Anji Tabata for a really nice article including interview. (sorry press is only in Japanese, but you may want to try that “translate” button and see what you get!)
